SUMMARY:2025 Defensive Rifle Course *SOLD OUT*
DESCRIPTION:This is a one-day class from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The emphasis of this course is on AR-style defensive rifle handling and shooting skills. Targets will be short to medium-range\, focusing on home defensive ranges. Students will be taught rights and responsibilities\, loading\, unloading\, speed loads\, tactical loads\, malfunction clearance\, zeroing\, disassembly and assembly\, and rifle component functions. Red Dot-type sights\, ACOG\, other low-power scopes\, and standard iron sights are welcome. You must have a backup iron sight capability if you have a sight. A minimum of three 20+ round magazines\, pockets\, or pouches to hold extra magazines or ammo are required. Standard range equipment such as eye and ear protection is needed. Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Bring your concealed carry handgun outside the waistband holster or other configuration and ammo for transition drills. Contact us for other equipment questions or requirements. A nominal 500 rounds are required. NO tracer or Armor Piercing ammo allowed. \nNo refunds are given for this class. If there is a vacancy\, it is possible to move to another class date.

DESCRIPTION:This class is designed to assist armed citizens in transitioning to the RDS and its practical use. \nWith the rise in popularity and the adaptation of red dot sights (RDS) for self-defense pistols\, C4TG has prepared a comprehensive transition course to introduce the concept behind operating the pistol with a red dot sight. \nSubject Matter Samples: \nThe hardware: RDS technology\, holster\, mounting\, battery\, BUS\nHardware Reliability\nEnvironmental Factor for use of RDS\nRDS Pros & Cons vs. Iron Sights\nStress and Focal point\nRDS Aiming and Sight Picture\nThe Grip & Stance factor\nThe use of parallax\nDrawing and Presentation from Holster using RDS\nZeroing the RDS\nDot Behavior in recoil\nTracking the dot and shooting errors\nCommon RDS failures and remedies \nStudents must have a Red Dot system mounted on their handgun with a proper (leather or Kydex) outside-the-waistband holster. You may use an approved inside-the-waistband holster. They must also have a minimum of 400 rounds for the class. We can provide electronic hearing protection and eye protection. We will also provide targets. This will be a fast-moving class with a minimal lunch break\, so pack a lunch.

Student must have a minimum of 400 rounds for the class. We can provide electronic hearing protection and eye protection. We will provide targets. SUMMARY:MAG 40 Course - July 2024
DESCRIPTION:This is an intense\, four-day\, 40-hour immersion course in the “rules of engagement” for armed law-abiding private citizens.  The course emphasizes legal issues\, tactical issues\, and aftermath management. Topics will include interacting with suspects\, witnesses\, responding police officers\, threat recognition and mindset\, and the management of the social and psychological aftermath of having to use lethal force in defense of self or others.  Also covered is preparing beforehand for legal repercussions and minimizing your exposure to them. Situations in the home\, at the place of business\, or “on the street” will all be covered.  Range work will include instruction in the use of the defensive handgun under extreme stress. Drawing from concealment\, two-handed stances\, shooting from cover\, one-handed stances with either hand\, speed reloading\, and more are taught with an overall emphasis on fast\, accurate shot placement. The course will culminate with a written examination covering classroom topics and a police-style handgun qualification course. This course is a blending of MAG 20 / Classroom and MAG 20 / Live Fire but is taught over four days. Be prepared to shoot on the third day\, 13 July 2024. \nThe first two days of this class (11-12 July) will be with the MAG 20 class at the Westmark Hotel and Conference Center\, located at 813 Noble St.\, Fairbanks. The last two days\, (13-14 July) will be at the Fox Range\, located at 2435 Steese Hwy.\, Fairbanks. \nPrerequisite: basic understanding of firearms safety. \nCost: $1200 \nWhat Do I bring?\n\nA good quality handgun\, suitable for self-protection and/or concealed carry.  Remember that you will be firing approximately 500 rounds during this class\, so ultra-lightweight firearms\, though suitable for concealed carry\, are not a good choice for class use.  If you have any questions about the suitability of your gun\, please contact us.  It is a good idea to bring a spare gun\, if you have one\, just in case your primary gun breaks. ( it happens more than you think)\nA good quality holster. You need a safe\, quality holster and belt. Again\, if you have any questions\, please contact us.\nA minimum of 3 magazines or speed loaders for your handgun.\nA magazine pouch/holder for at least 2 of your spare magazines or speed loaders.\nA sturdy belt\, to support the above.\nHearing protection.\nEye protection.\nBilled cap or other brimmed headwear (not red).\nAt least 500 rounds of decent quality\, reliable ammunition. Range ammunition (FMJ\, etc.) is fine.  You do not need to use premium self-defense ammo for this course.\nClothing suitable for the weather and the range. If necessary\, we will finish our range work in whatever conditions exist at class time\, live-fire classes run rain or shine\, mud may be involved.\nRaingear plus a light jacket and sweater or sweatshirt (mornings and evenings can be cold\, even in Alaska).\nNote-taking materials. You will need to take LOTS of notes. We’ll explain why when you get here. If you wish to use a laptop computer or a tablet\, that is OK  (you may also want to bring an extension cord/power strip). Audio or video recording of the class is not allowed.\nFirearm cleaning supplies plus any tools/lubricants that you might need.\n\nPlease note that the above list is just the essentials. You may bring additional items (such as a range bag\, extra magazines\,  folding chairs and tables\, tarps etc.)\, if you choose. \nThe Fox Range has a portable toilet\, and does not have running water. For your comfort you might want to bring wipes\, disposable washcloths and/or hand sanitizer. \nPlease bring your own lunches\, snacks\, beverages etc. We have a “working lunch” in all classes. Many of our facilities do not have a place close enough to purchase meals and get back in a reasonable amount of time. Also\, remember that many of our classes are 10-hour days so if you need another meal in that amount of time please bring it.  Bring water\, while we do provide water at all of our locations\, it never hurts to bring some more. And now\, we are excited to introduce a new segment on Bear protection. \nDuring this comprehensive course\, you will master safety\, Operation\, Loads\, Reloads\, Malfunctions\, Deployment\, Patterning\, Movement\, Communication\, and Bear Protection\, and even have the opportunity to shoot the Alaska State Bear qualification. SUMMARY:2024 Defensive Rifle Course
DESCRIPTION:The emphasis of this course is on AR-style defensive rifle handling and shooting skills. Targets will be short to medium-range\, focusing on home defensive ranges. Students will be taught rights and responsibilities\, loading\, unloading\, speed loads\, tactical loads\, malfunction clearance\, zeroing\, disassembly and assembly\, and rifle component functions. Red Dot type sights\, ACOG\, or other low-power scopes are welcome as well as standard iron sights. You must have a backup iron sight capability if you have a sight. Minimum of three 20+ round magazines\, pockets\, or pouches to hold extra magazines or ammo are required. Standard range equipment such as eye and ear protection is required. Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Bring your concealed carry handgun with outside the waistband holster or other configuration and ammo for transition drills. Contact us for other equipment questions or requirements. Nominal 500 rounds are required. NO tracer or Armor Piercing ammo allowed. If you cannot find ammo\, we will have ammo for purchase. \nNo refunds are given for this class. It is possible to be moved to another class date if there is a vacancy.

DESCRIPTION:This is the NRA Basic Pistol with legal and Use of Force class for those armed Citizens who wish to apply for the Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit (ACHP). This class meets all of the requirements and more. \nWe provide the training\, assist in the paperwork\, and do the fingerprinting. All you will need to do is submit your forms (provided)\, fingerprint cards (provided for a small fee)\, photo\, and $88.25 to the State of Alaska to finish out the application requirement. \nC4TG can provide everything to complete this course if you do not own a handgun\, holster\, or ANY equipment for that matter; our goal is your training so you develop the confidence to carry. \nThe course is 12 hours (State Requirement) and runs on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday\, from 9:00 a.m. to around 5:00 p.m.  \nEven if you do not want the ACHP this is a great beginning Pistol class. You must be able to legally own or possess a firearm to take this course. This class is designed to assist the armed citizen to transition to the RDS and effective use. \nSubject Matter Samples:\nThe hardware: RDS technology\, holster\, mounting\, battery\, BUS\nHardware Reliability\nEnvironmental Factor for use of RDS\nRDS Pros & Cons vs Iron Sights\nStress and Focal point\nRDS Aiming and Sight Picture\nThe Grip & Stance factor\nThe use of parallax\nDrawing and Presentation from Holster using RDS\nZeroing the RDS\nDot Behavior in recoil\nTracking the dot and shooting errors\nCommon RDS failures and remedies \nStudent must have a Red Dot system mounted on their handgun with a proper (leather or kydex) outside of the waistband holster. Student must have a minimum of 400 rounds for the class. We can provide electronic hearing protection and eye protection. We will provide targets. This will be a fast moving class with a minimal lunch break so pack a lunch.
