The emphasis of this course is on AR-style defensive rifle handling and shooting skills. Targets will be short to medium-range, focusing on home defensive ranges. Students will be taught rights and responsibilities, loading, unloading, speed loads, tactical loads, malfunction clearance, zeroing, disassembly and assembly, and rifle component functions. Red Dot type sights, ACOG, or other low-power scopes are welcome as well as standard iron sights. You must have a backup iron sight capability if you have a sight. Minimum of three 20+ round magazines, pockets, or pouches to hold extra magazines or ammo are required. Standard range equipment such as eye and ear protection is required. Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Bring your concealed carry handgun with outside the waistband holster or other configuration and ammo for transition drills. Contact us for other equipment questions or requirements. Nominal 500 rounds are required. NO tracer or Armor Piercing ammo allowed. If you cannot find ammo, we will have ammo for purchase.
