This is a one-day class from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The emphasis of this course is on AR-style defensive rifle handling and shooting skills. Targets will be short to medium-range, focusing on home defensive ranges. Students will be taught rights and responsibilities, loading, unloading, speed loads, tactical loads, malfunction clearance, zeroing, disassembly and assembly, and rifle component functions. Red Dot-type sights, ACOG, other low-power scopes, and standard iron sights are welcome. You must have a backup iron sight capability if you have a sight. A minimum of three 20+ round magazines, pockets, or pouches to hold extra magazines or ammo are required. Standard range equipment such as eye and ear protection is needed. Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Bring your concealed carry handgun outside the waistband holster or other configuration and ammo for transition drills.
