Advanced Defensive Rifle Course — One‑Day Training (8:00 AM–6:00 PM)
Completion of the Defensive Rifle Basic Course is required before attending this class.
This advanced course expands on foundational rifle skills and introduces higher‑level defensive concepts, including coordinated movement, communication, and team‑based problem‑solving. Students will work through realistic scenarios designed to strengthen confidence, safety, and efficiency with AR‑style defensive rifles at practical home‑defense distances.
Training includes:
- Shoot, move, and communicate principles
- Individual and team movement techniques
- Safe coordination, spacing, and communication while moving with others
- Advanced rifle handling under increased complexity and stress
- Rifle‑to‑handgun transition drills
Approved sighting systems include red dots, ACOG‑style optics, low‑power variable optics, and standard iron sights. Rifles equipped with optics must also have a backup iron sight capability.
Required equipment:
- Minimum of three 20+ round rifle magazines
- Magazine pouches or pockets for carrying extra ammunition
- Standard eye and ear protection
- Knee and elbow pads (recommended)
- A handgun with a minimum of 100 rounds for transition drills
- Outside‑the‑waistband handgun holster preferred, but not required
- Approximately 500 rounds of rifle ammunition
- No tracer or armor‑piercing ammunition permitted
