Defensive Handgun for the Armed Citizen course is designed for individuals who want to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for responsible, effective self-defense. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and are encouraged to bring a semi-automatic pistol and a sturdy belt, along with a leather or kydex holster (no trigger finger retention holsters allowed). Eye and ear protection are also required. The curriculum covers use of force training, real-life scenario training, position shooting, and one-handed handgun manipulations, providing a comprehensive and hands-on education. Participants should bring 300 rounds of ammunition to maximize their learning experience. More equipment information will be sent to the students 2 weeks prior to class. PREREQUISITES
- Must be a U.S. citizen (ITAR requirement)
- Must be able to legally own and possess firearms
- Minimum age: 18 years
- No felony convictions or prohibited persons
COURSE LOCATION & SCHEDULE
Day 1 – Saturday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Location: The Fox Range
- Focus: Live-fire training, fundamental skills development
Day 2 – Sunday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Location: Private training facility (address provided to enrolled students)
- Focus: Force-on-force scenarios, defensive tactics
