This is a one-day class from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The emphasis of this course is on AR-style defensive rifle handling and shooting skills. Targets will be short to medium-range, focusing on home defensive ranges. Students will be taught rights and responsibilities, loading and unloading, speed and tactical loads, malfunction clearance, zeroing, disassembly and assembly, and rifle component functions. Red Dot-type sights, ACOG, other low-power scopes, and standard iron sights are welcome. You must have a backup iron sight capability if you have a sight. A minimum of three 20+ round magazines, pockets, or pouches to hold extra magazines or ammo is required. Standard range equipment, such as eye and ear protection, is needed. Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Contact us for other equipment questions or requirements. A nominal 500 rounds are required. NO tracer or armor-piercing ammo allowed.
